I started last year. I have a Barnet. It is extremely hard to pull back and I'm 6'-1" 260 lbs. I would advise getting one with a cocking device. I shoot mine into a practice target to release it. You can remove the bolt and transport it cocked if you practice target is not handy. Crossbows have been legal in Alabama a few years but the laser sight is not. You have to use an optical scope here.
