Like the others said it is about getting every one on digital. I have basic regular cable and phone line DSL. The cable company tried for a while to get everyone in the area to switch to digital. I was one of the hold outs. Cable company calls one day and says we need to make a appointment to rewire the cable in your house. I say what???????? I am happy with what I have. They tell me it is FREE and mandotory. Come to find out we were messing up the reception of the cable internet with our old out dated wire.
