Check the knotter trip arm assembly, it may be loose or your break might be miss adjusted...if possible get someone to drive while you walk behind and watch to see whats going on...I don't know about JD equip, but on Masseys there is a roller where the trip arm rides, and of course there is an adjustment for this as well...It might be the case that your knotter trip arm may not be falling back down all the way...I had this problem earlier this year and it cost me two billhooks, knives, gears etc....basically new knotters......:( Good luck, I'm sure more will chime in here
