The patient: 1990 Jeep Cherokee, 6 cyl, auto, 4x4 The symptoms: Won't shift out of 1st gear. Fluid/filter are clean. There was a possible kickdown cable issue, but that's been fixed with no change in the symptoms. There are 3 solenoids on the valve body; two on the side and one on the rear. Do these have anything to do with the shift pattern, or do they have other functions? The park/neutral switch on the passenger side; does this have anything to do with the shift pattern? Doesn't seem like it would need an 8-wire lead on it for only part/neutral. Of course b/u lights on are in too, but 8 wires? Its almost gotta be tied in to something else. I'm hoping this is an electrical issue, partly because the fluid is so clean and partly because I don't want to give my extra transmission to my brother-in-law. Any ideas or suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks, Anthony
