OK...I know it ain't a tractor, but it's parked in the same shed. Few weeks ago at a auction, I bought a one-owner 1980 Chevy 1/2T 4x4 pickup, 250 Six cylinder, automatic, w/ 70,000 miles. I thought it might make a good farm pickup to leave here on the place. Runs just fine...after a tune-up, new shocks, brakes, exhaust system. Today, for the first time, I tried out the 4 wheel drive, and don't you know it...I can't get it out of 4-wheel drive. :~( Transfer case seems to shift OK, but stays engaged in 4 wheel high. I've driven dozens of these old coots over the years, and never had this problem. Where do I start looking?? Thanks to anyone for their help.
