Hi Gang; Built 1960-65 in Yorkshire England, an upgrade of the successful B-250 & B-275 tractors. This one features the 40HP (gross) 4 cylinder indirect injection engine; 4F & 1R gears, diff lock & live 540 PTO (optinal 2 speed 540 & 720). The "Varitouch" hydraulics were introduced to compete with MF & Fordson models, giving both depth control & position control. De-Luxe seat, rev counter & lights fitted. These were powerful little tractors, built as 100 Pounds Weight per 1HP which at that time was considered the ideal for heavy field work. In 1966 the B-414 was upgraded to the 434 with increased HP up to 43, different tinwork & a better driving position/seat/controls. The only "downfall" of the whole family was the need for glow-plug starting which could cause problems especially in cold weather. On the "plus side" however they would out perform the Fordson, MF, DB & Nuffield tractors in this power bracket. Cheers David
