Calling WyoDave - converting 6 to 12 Volt

Hi Ya Dave;
Nice collection of green 'uns ! You must be an expert in these machines.
I am considering converting my 1944 BR electric start & lighting from 6 Volt to 12 Volt. Have you any advice you can give me please?
The 6 volt turns over slowly and 6 Volt is almost impossible to get anything for in England.
I thought that 12 Volt would spin over the starter faster and the tractor be easier to start.
Would I need to have my starter, dynamo & regulator re-worked? Can I use existing wiring loom?
All help and advice from anyone will be gratefully appreciated.
