Don't have any crops on my 5 acres but I do have a short track, with a few small hills/jumps, built for my boy. The only others that use it are a couple of the neighbors kids and sometimes a friend or two of theirs. I don't mind them riding as long as they use some sense about it. One of the neighbors boys started getting a little crazy when my boy was riding at the same time and I had to lay down the law. Since then they ride hard like any kid is gonna do but they don't get crazy because they know doing so will get them banned for good. The main thing is if you allow it have rules and you abide by the rules just as you expect others to. Don't make exceptions here and there because when you make exceptions to your own rules the others feel they have a right to do it too. Like the old saying "Give them an inch and they take a mile..." Don't ever give that inch and you'll never have to try to take it back. As for the ones riding illegally and tearing up crops don't we still have a thing called making a "Citizens arrest" in this country? hy not "officially" arrest the trespesser and hold them for police and charge them for the damage to your crops. It's no different than finding someone vandalizing your car, etc, the monetary value of a few acres ought to be enough to get something done, even if it's filing against their parents for damages....Just my .02.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
