Have you checked to see if the distributor shaft is turning while the engine is cranking over? I don't know what engine you have, but timing belts and chains that break are common in these little Ornamental units. Then, the camshaft and distributor no longer rotate, and the valves often get up close and personal with the pistons. If this is NOT the problem, some of these little outfits had really crappy ignition switches that can fail, and not power up the ignition.
