If the steering tends to fall or pull to one side, check the Toe-in setting. If it wobbles when going down the road or lane, it might need king-pin bushings. Another thing to check is for loose tie-rod ends-by loose, i mean they wobble, or flop around, if you disconnect them from their normal connections. Also, "play" in the steering box can give lots of steering problems, too. Being that i can't see the tractor, i am giving you this info so you know what to check! I worked on Ford N tractors many years ago, at the local Ford tractor dealer. Also on the Ford cars of the 30's and 40's.
