GM Diesel was the Canadian General Motors division that built EMD locomotives and Mowag armoured vehicles.
EMD locomotives are still being built there (and still in LaGrange), but no longer for GM. Armoured vehicles are also still being built there, but now for General Dynamics under the Stryker product name.
Nothing to do with tractors, or Detroit Diesel engines .... I had to chime in though because "GM Diesel" has a close connection to me.
I"ve worked designing both products over the last 18 years.
