Gary, Is there any wheat raised in Iowa? I moved to Cedar Rapids in 1961 and never saw any in the 17 years I lived there. Everyone over in central Indiana where I grew up (back in the '40s and '50s) raised 15 acres or so of wheat, but it was mainly a nurse crop for the next year's clover/timothy mix hay crop. Biggest traffic jam of the summer was at the elevator when everyone was lined up to sell their wheat. Stan

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
