No problem Old, First it is necessary to get the fuel out. Turn it so the crack is down and gently squeeze it with your fingers a bit to give it a wee bit of incentive. repeat till it stops coming out. An alternative to this is to use an electric pencil soldering iron of 35 watts (not a big iron ,they are too hot, or a gun, they have sparking triggers) and with the crack down, heat the material in pulses to force the fuel out under vapor pressure. When no more comes out, look over the float. you will find a spot of solder that is alone and not by a seam. Unsolder this by heating it and brushing the solder away with copper wires fuzzed from the end of a stranded piece of electrical lead, or mini wire brush. (this allows repair without pressure on the seam). Prep the crack by using 250 paper on it to shiny. Use rosin core tin/lead solder (not silver, it takes way too much heat) and solder the crack shut. Let the float cool, then with a hot dab of solder on the pencil tip of the iron, re solder the "vent". Simple 10 minute job. do not over heat the brass as the entire thing will come apart. It takes a bit of noodeling to flow the solder but it is a nice repair. JimN
