Case 990 (David Brown)

I have acquired the 990 case (David Brown) 4 cyl. Diesel and need some information on date of Mfg. and any other information I can obtain for future references in obtaining parts for future repairs.
It has data plate information as follows: Reduction Ratio--10/49 Tractor Sr# 990/1 11093805 Eng Sr # 449001 55172. The tractor has 3 forward and reverse with Hi--Lo.
Can anyone fill in the Mfg date and what manuals are needed. Do the Case shop manuals do a good job covering break-down and repair??
