Ah ha! Yes that makes some more sense. Did you just acquire this tractor or why haven"t you used or tried the high gear before? You may not be aware that the "R" was available new with steel wheels. The "high" gear (5th) would be locked out when equipped with steel wheels. Possibly that is what you have. Is it on rubber tires now? Someone may have switched steel wheels over to rubber tires but didn"t unlock the 5th gear. If indeed the 5th gear is locked because it was on steel originally, that would help you some, but I don"t know the method to unlock the 5th gear.
