I guess you could try it. Seems like you a have a frozen bearing and if you were able to break it free, the bearing is probably going to come apart and trash the whole water pump. Napa did sell a rebuild kit for water pumps. A new pump will cost around $200. They are simple to rebuild. 2 bearings a spring loaded seal.
