Two straight weeks in Michigan this year without any form of precipitation at all! No rain, snow, sleet, mist, fog, thunder, lightning, hellacious wind, hail, nothing but blue sky and low humidity for two straight weeks, thats all. I want to chisel plow, too wet, can't get the rest of the beans out, can't get any wheat planted. This has been a dandy of a year to try to do anything outside. We just don't seem to be able to get more than a day or two of sun before it rains. Watching the weather channel has been amazing. Rain storms that seem to cover half the U.S. and they keep swirling up a completely covering the great lakes and then blowing over to new york and blasting those folks. Friend of mine is a pheasant hunter and said he has never seen so many crops still in the fields on the first day of the season. He said there are usually no standing soybeans and about half the corn is usually in. This year he said more than half the soys are still in and most of the corn is still standing. I couldn't imagine it but we might end up having to wait for the ground to freeze to get anything done. Chisel plowing frozen ground is no fun either. I did it a few times about 20 years ago. It was tough on the plow I remember that. It might dry up but it doesn't look too promising. I guess there are a lot of leaves to rake and maintenence on cars to do though. All the fall yard chores. Later people.

It increased the farm productivity and, in general, made life easier because more work could be done with this 'mechanical beast'. My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
