My dad had the same problem when I was young, except it was wood working....he was a skilled wood pattern/cabinet maker, fast and accurate, it was difficult to watch me struggle, so he would take over a project that was suposed to be mine/ours. I ended up finding a trade in high school he knew nothing about...metalworking.. and exelled in it, because I didn't have to compete with the old man's skills/knowlege.Now , don't get me wrong , I learned a tremendous amount from watching my old man build things, especially layout/measuring skills, planning a job, and orginization. and eventually even ended up back in the same trade... clay modeling, a trade that is art, skill, and patients, Old , grit your teeth, let him booger up a few welds, MAKE HIM FIX THEM, and explain why . he will thank you someday, and you will be proud of him for it...Shawn
