You only haul 11 straw bales at a time? My calculation shows a bit over 10,000 pounds for the load, plus the weight of the trailer. If you have a PowerStroke in that pickup, it should just be playing! We haul at least 14 alfalfa bales at time, about 1100 to 1200 pounds each on our gooseneck trailer. Trailer is rated for 17,000 pounds and we max it out. Never had a problem running 65 mph with the 98 Cummins, and the 06 Cummins just plays with it. For the short hauls we use the 82 Dodge with just a little 318 gas and go a little slower. Back on topic, flax straw bales make good wind break material - they don't deteriorate. Our neighbor even made a couple of calf shelters out flax straw bales. :o)

I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
