My thoughts on this is there"s nothing wrong with the upright design. They only seize up because these old tractors were built to be used and not be left sitting around for years on end. You can also have good fun with an underslung if you"re plowing snow with a rear blade and keep plugging up the muffler. I don"t think either version is perfect but I prefer the uprights.
