At least you had fun with it. Got the same damage and repair here, but the results weren't as friendly. Get home to find the fence ripped out and critters everywhere. Gather and herd the critters in, rig up a temporary fence. Workers on the neighbors farm come over and help me, and to tell me they watched the accident and called the state police. The state police REFUSED to respond, and hung up on them. I called the town police, who did respond (out of their jurisdiction), and they started an investigation on the state police refusal (I've heard nothing, of course). Then, here comes the neighbor over yelling that there's a goose in her field, and with heavy profanity, telling me that I've got to get it and how it's causing her harm. This is neighbor who's let her cattle run wild for days on end, and has thoroughly mucked up the creek running through my place from her running too many cattle.
