I have a 1982 Bearcat with a 270 horse 3306. Good motor. From my owners manual it lists a 220, 250 and 270 HP. There is an ID # stamped on the rear of the block, if I remember right, is on the left side near the top. You can contact Cat truck or equipment dealers with the complete number and they can tell you what you have. Case/IH dealers can also tell you as they are also Steiger. Hope this helps.
