You probably can find an engine with more HP that will fit in the space that the original engine fit. The problem that you will run into is that the rest of the tractor will not be up to the additional torque that the more powerful engine will put out. The transmission and implement drives will not stand the additional strain. My dad found this out when he put an 8 HP engine on his 5 HP Wheelhorse.
