Absolutely. Some of the Japanese cars are just broken in at 140K, and will go a lot farther. Possible reasons to quit using one: bad automatic transmission or bad rust, both of which may be too expensive to fix. If the engine and transmission are good, rebuilt CV axles are not that expensive and often air conditioning and other leaks can be fixed fairly cheap. Lots of cars built about that time had problems with the paint not sticking very well to the primer, and look really bad now. Maaco or some other low cost paint shop could probably make the car look pretty good for much less than $1k. I'd fix it if it wasn't too bad. But then I usually drive a 10 year old Mazda that got a new paint job a couple of years ago. 31mpg, reliability and super cheap price. Do I really care if it is an old beater? Not hardly. It is just great for running errands that don't require the hauling capacity of the big pickup and its 10mpg. It's old too, but works fine for what I ask it to do for me. I try to keep my wife in a fairly new car that is completely reliable and nice. Keeps her happy and also I don't have to worry about her then. Good luck!

And, if you are like me, your tractor is under cover, but it sits outside. So with every temperature change, the humidity in the air collects in the fuel tank, in the form of water.
