Well when i was out buying tractors and equipment i had a 88 Ford F350 4X4 dualy with a 460 with a 5 speed and 4.10 gears . Now the truck weighed in at 7500 and the trailer weighed in at 7500 so empty weight was 15000 and most of the time i was pushen well over 30-35000 . As for the road speed just how fast did ya want to run as the 460 would run the speedometer out of number if ya wanted to , power was not a problem and fuel milage was always wright around 10-10.5 loaded as the harder ya ran her and the faster ya went the better the fuel milage as i always trye to keep her running around 3200-3500 RPM as this is where a 460 likes to live and since the 5 speed was not made for haulen in overdrive she spent a bunch of miles in 4th . There were times that she would set at 4000 rpm for several hours when i was in a big hurry late at nite and no bears around . That old truck darn near burnt up old US 30 I 70 , Us 40 and US 24 , and US 36 and I 71 and when i felt real welthie the Buckeye GREEN STAMP And the Indy Toll Road along with may back roads thru Ill and Indy.
