I was born and raised in an old country Dutch family. No one touched anyone, unless they were beating the hell out of you. The word love was not used. I was NEVER told by my parents that I was loved. I married my wife, a truly remarkable woman. She said about my family 'this is bull sh**'. She started huging my dad, mother, and everyone else in the family. She changed the attitude of whole family. Most of them are dead now but those family members that are left routinely hug each other after not seeing each other for a while. While not said, the whole family appreciates the change my wife made in our family. I cannot thank her enough. Granted their are excesses and abuses out there, but there is another side also.
