Agreed on all counts, but it is a workable if more expensive first cost alternative to CaCl2. I still have the same CaCl2 that came in the MH50 when we bought it outside of Duluth, MN some years back. That stuff never seemed to be an operational problem up there, in terms of freezing up. The only things I'd say against it is that gets to be a mess if you want to get rid of it, or if a tube or stem starts leaking the rim starts corroding. They didn't have propylene glycol based antifreeze when I got the tractor, but could I have changed it over the cost difference that you point out might've covered the rim repair I had to make later after the tube leaked.
