i think that JT is on the right track about the fuel pump. when the diaphram go"s bad it will leak gas threw the intake and into your oil and thin it out. the thin oil will then pass by your piston and burn threw the exhaust making you think that the rings or cylinder is bad. i think this is a common promblom on the twinn cylinder briggs. i rebuilt my fuel pump and the promblom went away. its somewhere to start. lets us know.
