I have bought tractors and parts in Ontario and passed through the US Niagra Customs without any problems. I made three trips and only once was I required to pull over and submit to an inspection. I don't recall signing anything or paying a duty. One agent explained that items mfgd in the US were allowed to come home duty free. I don't know how they could separate IH product mfgd in Hamilton, ON from the US made product. Perhaps I underestimate their professionalism. If you buy at auction, let the clerks know you are crossing the border. I think they will give you a form that should satisfy the agents. It may have something to do with agricultural exemptions. I can't remember. Anyway, call a Canadian Auctioneer such as Bryans in Guelph, ON and ask them about your concerns.
