"bout 20 years ago a friend and I went to S.E. Wisc. for opening day trout season. Found the creek we wante and asked permission to camp in cow pasture. Gentlemen was real nice and asked that we be sure to close the gate. We slept in the back of my pickup, and were real excited that we had a stretch of the stream to ourselves. Next morning we awoke to voices. There was about 75 guys walking by us to the creek! Time we got up, one guy caught a trout and the rest scared 'em off! We asked the farmer why he said there was noone else with permission the day before and he said there wasn't, but he just got tired of trying to chase off so many! Just kept his cows in on opening day of trout season, deer season and bird season, and watched to make sure they closed the pasture gate! Asked one of the other fisherman and he said they pretty much go where they want! Said only one guy, a half mile upstream caused much trouble, with posting his property, chasing them out and leaving 4 or 5 bulls in the asture! The bulls seemed to be the biggest deterrent.
