This is the deer my hunting partner shot Saturday afternoon on our farm. Said he acted like a buck when he tried to sneak past him in the field. When I tried to retrieve him, with a pallet on a fork lift on the back of the tractor, I needed help to drag him the few feet to the pallet and up on it. He was a pretty good sized bruiser. When I checked for horns, he had none! Just a couple if stubs, less that a inch high. Both appeared to have broken off just above the base. Had the proper equipment below, in fact quite an impressive set. However, he had to suffer the great indignity of being tagged with a "doe" permit! My son Michael is shown in the picture to provide a scale (reference) - he"s 5" 11", weighs 210#.
