I have to agree with Dave on this one... I feel like firefox is the superior browser to be using for any of the web browsing you do. I say this not only as someone who uses the web quite a bit, but also as someone who has worked in IT for several years. Internet Explorer is directly tied into your operating system, and so when bad stuff comes through, it can change a number of your system settings on you, unless you have all of the latest security upgrades for it. On several systems I installed firefox, and all of the users had a significant reduction in problems. If you notice, the new IE 7 that was just released is trying to copy the same features as Opera (another browser, the first with tabs) and Firefox. Most people download the google toolbar to block popups and do searches anyway, I guess I just prefer a browser that comes with all of that built in already. Just my $.02.
