Tim, I've had many of them during my time with the Arkansas Naional Guard. I thought they were pretty good.(If you used your imagination). When in basic traing in the air force in July of 75, we went to the rifle range one day. Had the old c-rats. Mine was dated 1947. The MRE's are a lot better. In 1991 My guard unit, 875 Sig Bn was activated for Desert Storm. During our field training a mistake was made and about eight of us was left of the "list" to be allowed to eat in one of the mobile kitchens. A long story made short, the good ole army snuck us back on main part of Ft Hood and let us buy our on food, three days later. What I would have given for an MRE during those three days.
