LMAO!!! Ive eaten my weight in them. So much better than C rations. I still have nightmares about the C ration lima beans. I spent a lot of time with various MASH units even though my detachment (973d) was technically part of a field hospital (1985-1995). Most of those MASH units had a mess section that could ruin anything. My unit only rated one cook for the 80 of us so mostly he made coffee and passed out MRE's. Beats the boiled salmon and raw chicken that came out of some of the field kitchens. Best though was to get some steaks, wrap them in foil, and put them on the turbochargers on the gen sets (we took 10-50KW's with us to the field).
