Posted this on the implement board but thought I would put it here also. Thanks for any help. I have a scissor lift hoist out of a old corn wagon of my fathers. I am going to install it in a pickup box trailer. At this time it is set up as a one way cylinder and when I raised it to test oil came out the relief valve. Will this cylinder need to be rebuilt and is it a hard job or should I let a shop do it? There is no brand name on the hoist, and I don't remember where he bought it. Has anyone else done this? I am thinking of a 12volt pump with power up and power down or should I just get power up and gravity down? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Also how do you figure out which pump to get. The shaft is 1 3/4" and the cylinder is approx. 5" in dia. and approx 22 inches long. Thanks Byron
