I believe the E-350 does not have power steering or live pto. If you try hard you can buy a new 3525 for $9500 to $10500 and will have the 3-year warranty, power steering and live pto plus the updated sheet metal. The older (boxy) style Mahindra without PS or Live PTO will be harder to resell once you decide you should have bought something else first. I bought a new 5500 Mahindra with a loader in 2004 and have been very pleased. If your needs do not go beyond the E-350 you can find a decent Ford 600 or 601 in the $2500 to $3200 range that is not likely to depreciate no matter how long you keep it. If you need a tractor enough to spend $6500 you will regret not having power steering or a live pto. You should be able to find a used 3525 or C-35 (Suburbanized version of the 3525) for $7200 to $8200. Back to your original question I would not pay over $5000 for an E-350 (but I would not buy it anyway because of lack of features) the new price was probably $7000 to $7400 (purchase price not list). The Mahindras are good tractors, but the E-350 is decades behind their newer models that can be bought for just a little more money.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
