I have have a Bradco backhoe made by American Trencher. It is about 20 years old & a sub-frame mount, 7 foot depth. Overall it has been very usefull. It has chain link connected to a hydraulic cylinder for the swing motion. I have broken 3 chains over the years and I find it to be a bit sloppy. I bent a dipper arm cylinder several years ago and I just bent a bucket cylinder. I don't know if the bending is a brand problem or an operator problem. It does happen, I suppose. I dont recommend the chain swing.
