Books of that era - 1956 +/- show 13.6-38. I suspect they may have had a 1 size upgrade to 14.9-38. Size markings have not changed since then - but the earlier tires of the same size would have been 12-38 and 13-38 respectively. As far as I can tell, the 13.9 size was a slightly lower profile (actually shorter than 13.6) used primarily on JD 620/630 in the 36" rim size - can"t find any 13.9-38. The 15.5 size was again a lower profile version compared to the 14.9 and again I can only find it in the 38" rim size, but it became popular as a replacement for 14.9-38 and by the late 50"s / early 60"s it was the only way to go for that size tractor. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
