boy I knew this would bring a lot of answers-- thanks guys-- anyone else-- loved the stories-- for your info reg. table salt works fairly well-- pack bowl and shank with salt (plug shank end first so it don't leak out) let set for a couple of weeks , if you have enough pipes-- I just thought oneone might have a better solution , I'm working on making a pipe i saw advertisedk, that burns from the bottom up, you fill it from the top, put in the cork ? it has a screen in the bottom to keep the ash from falling out to fast-- they are made in vermont, BLW
