Northern was started about 30 years ago in Burnsvilla, MN under the name of Northern Hydraulics. It was put together by the Kotula brothers from the Iron Range (northern Minn.)probably when they were layed off from the mines. They sold parts for making log splitters and other things (trailers, etc) when the first energy crunch came on. Since then they have expanded tremendously and market just about everything. THEY MAKE NOTHING!!!!!! They just sell. Much of the stuff is foreign so buyer beware.
