They replaced the lighter duty 966 rear end with a new bigger 1066 rear end with all the bearings and bull pinions. Cost me an extra $400 to go to the bigger size and the total repair bill came to $3902. Cost me a hundred dollar bill to have it hauled both directions also. Sure nice havin' it back. I told the wife it was just a heck of a lot easier to have a lot of tractors instead of havin' to pull that hitch pin all the time. She says, "That just doesn't cypher". :>) Allan

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
