We had a similar situation...I put a serpentine belt on my old Jimmy. The belt lasted right at 3000 miles, then just shredded, the previous one was put on when we did an overhaul and it had lasted about 50000 miles. My wife happened to be going to town and I handed her the belt and the receipt and asked her to get one on warrantee (1 year). The counterman proceeded to tell her and everyone else in the store with a very loud voice that evidently "her man" didn't know how to install a belt. She argued quietly that I did and to give her a belt... he finally did. I called the store and proceeded to lay him and the manager out. Then, ahhh, the power of the net, I emailed the office of Advance Auto Parts and tell them my story... the next day the counterman and the manager called and apologized to her! She said that was all well and good, but what about all the people in the store that thought her and her man didn't know anything. End of conversation...but she was pleased....and I still do shop at Advance, I am always the one to get the parts and I don't take any guff. Mike
