My grandmother still doesn't trust banks after the depression. She had to drop out of school and take a job to help her family. She said they would go many days on bread with no meat. Their house was unheated so the 6 siblings all slept together sidways in one bed for warmth. A glass of water on the bedside would freeze very early in the night. She still won't throw a single thing away as they went with nothing for so long.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
