it is so easy to take a guard off and think you will remember to stay away from the moving parts. it might work for a while but everything i do reminds me that i used to have more fingers than i do now. now we have small kids and although they arent supposed to be around equipment, can we leave guards off or things running unattended and think they wont get currious " what's that thing doing in there daddy" is a reminder that in the blink of an eye a 3 year old will go from the swing set to the barn and it might be too late. i can not imagine what it would feel like to have one of my kids killed b/c i did not do my best to protect everyone.
