Chuck, I had a 1600 and have an 8N right now. These two are like comparing apples and watermelons. If the Oliver is in decent shape with a loader it sounds like a steal. I wish I still had mine. The only thing about the Oliver is the size of the tractor..it's huge compared to the Ford. If size doesn't pose a problem go for the 1600 if you are set on choosing one of the two, however, there are probably better choices as others have stated if you don't limit yourself to these. jim
