08S and its predecessor, the S10 were great saws. Only problem we often had with the early 08S saws was the governor. They used a air-powered governor hooked to the carburetor choke. After a lot of use, the choke-shaft would wear out from moving back and forth so much. The choke was also the only engine shut-off - i.e. there was no electrical switch. They'd get so worn - the engine would no longer shut-off. Same with the early 040s.
