See my post I linked before. I think I'm going to use SJ oils in my 2001 and 1998 vehicles. SL and SM are the latest with probably the lowered slippery additives. SF is for older engines yet and is on the shelves to be bought. I think SJ is better oil though. There are conflicting claims about this situation. One that the latest SM oil will destroy older engines, the other from the oil makers and many car makers that SM is the greatest oil, suitable for all engine lubrication applications except for diesels. Oils rated for diesels have high levels of ZDDP because of sliding cams for injection pumps. So 15 W40 oils tend to have the high levels. I don't know what will happen soon as diesels have catalytic converters. Gerald J.
