case 2470 won't steer

Tractor is crab steer and nothing visibly broken or leaking. Sitting still, engine rev'd, the steering wheel can be rotated continuously in either direction with no effect to wheels turning. With the tractor moving the steering functions somewhat and I was able to put it in the shed. The tractor has on rare occasion failed to turn to the right. A sharp jerk to the left and back to the right would correct this. This last problem occurred after having an abondoned septic tank to collapse while discing over it and the tractor fell into the hole and pulled itself out. The problem was not immediately obvious and was found only when the tractor was driven on the highway 30 minutes later. Any thoughts?
