although I am by no means an expert, I own a groundhog and know a bit about their history. Mine is a 9hp with single rear wheels. The company was in tacoma washington and was reported to have made close to 10,000 units over the years, although that number seems very high to me. They made a dually version, but the torque was so high with the 9 hp wisconsin engine that they had troubles with breaking the rear axles. I can tell you they made a whole lot more than 36 units... I have a blade on the front of mine and a horizontal bar hitch on the back for a plow that I have but have not ever mounted or used. I have a few xeroxes of the original sales brochure and some engine info. Send me an email if you folks are interested...
