These things are worse than worthless. First time I used mine, it had warmed up & when I loosened the cap, pressure from expansion forced about a cup of gas out the cap & all over my hands. Now I only put 3 gallons in it. What good is a 5 gallon can you can only put 3 gallons in? These pieces of junk are made by Blitz. Shop around, call around, avoid the big box stores & you can still find good plastic cans, at least here in Oregon. Our local True Value Hdw store and a tractor dealer both carry a kind that is shaped like a stretched cube that's low enough that it won't tip over. Unfortunately, there is no brand on it. A boat shop might have good non-tipping ones, too.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
